Location

The house lies peacefully in beautiful surroundings at the south-eastern tip of the island of Tåsinge, near the end of a cul-de-sac and less than 200 metres from the sea where there is a small marina and a bathing jetty.   There are a number of fine walks on Tåsinge, both coastal and in the forests.  The coast is very popular with anglers.  In addition, there is Valdemars Slot, a stately home which is open from Easter and well worth a visit.  There is a sandy beach at Valdemars Slot and a further small one about 20 minutes walk from the house.  On warm, sunny summer days, being near the sea is a godsend!  The surrounding area is very easy cycling, with cycle paths on the main road (A9) and plenty of quiet roads.

Tåsinge lies just across the sound from Svendborg, an attractive small town which celebrated its 750th anniversary in 2003.  There are many old buildings to see on a walk around the town and plenty of shops, cafes and restaurants.  We are 13 km (8 miles) from Svendborg and 9 km (5.5 miles) from Rudkøbing, which is the main town on Langeland, the next island from Tåsinge.  Langeland has several fine beaches, the most popular being the one at Ristinge, and some really beautiful walks. 
From Svendborg and Rudkøbing, there are regular ferries to some of the other islands in the Sydfyn archipelago.  Ærø is especially recommended.
